Time is flying by way too quickly and I haven't even taken any pictures in class lately so I will have to give you a written update!
Art: We looked at Eric Carle's books and watched a Youtube movie of him illustrating one of his books. Then we used various painting techniques to make our own collage paper just like Eric Carle does. We will use this paper to illustrate the fairy tales that we wrote last week.
Maths: We are looking forward to sharing our learning with our parents during our open morning on Thursday at 11.30. We have learnt a few new games that we are eager to show our parents. In Maths we are working on number knowledge. Last week we worked on numbers before and after. This week we are working on putting numbers in order from smallest to largest.
Reading: As an extra reading activity each group is getting a turn at using the iPads to scan a QR code that is linked to one of Eric Carle's stories. After we listen to the story, we have an activity to do related to the story.
Writing: Last week we wrote to retell one of our favourite fairy tales. Mrs Nichol typed these up to add to the collage art picture. When these are done they will be on display in our classroom. This week we are writing about what we want to be when we grow up. This is part of our current theme about Footprints on the Future. We are talking about what we think we will be doing in the future.
That's about it for now! You are always welcome in the classroom to see our current learning.
