Writing this week

The children are learning how to find words in the dictionary. This is an important skill because, for many of them, the next step in their writing is to edit and correct their work.

James used his writing skills at home by writing a fabulous story.  He and his mum looked online for good story starters and James found one he liked about a helicopter. He then planned for his story on a piece of paper by drawing what he wanted to write about and adding some important words that he would need in his writing.  Next he wrote his draft copy.  Finally, with his mum's help, he edited his story, typed up a good copy and added some awesome photos.  His story is now in our class library for everyone to read.  Well done James!

Everyone in our class has painted a new picture and have written wonderful stories about them.
They are hanging up on display in our classroom.  The picture and story we did last term is attached underneath so we can see how much we've learnt in just one term! Please pop in and read our new stories and see our new paintings.
